What is Berkshire Busk!

Berkshire Busk! is planned as a 10-weekend summer event in Great Barrington, MA, where street performers (buskers) will perform in designated areas in the early evenings of Friday and Saturday. The locations span one end of downtown to the other, creating a "cultural journey."  We intend for the performers to be diverse in age, race, skill, and genre -- from bands to jazz and classical music, spoken word, dance, jugglers and more.

Aside from creating a new and exciting type of community engagement, the project is all about economic development -- helping to ensure sufficient numbers of customers for the restaurants and stores to help them recover from the pandemic.

When and where is the festival taking place?

Berkshire Busk! will run on Friday and Saturday evenings from Friday July 2, to Saturday Sept 4. Performers will be stationed at various locations throughout the downtown area (see map) from approximately 5 PM to 9 PM.

Is there any cost to attend?

No! This is an outdoor festival, with no tickets or entry fees. However, you are encouraged to tip the performers!

Who can perform?

We are inviting performers of all ages, race, skill, and genre -- from bands to jazz and classical music, spoken word, dance, jugglers and more. If you (or a group you are in) is interested in applying, please click here!
